Snow Pictures

I tried to measure how much snow we had last Sunday. It was somewhere around 30 inches. It is snowing again tonight. I think we have had four or five more inches already. I hope that I can still get to church in time to play my part in the bell song tomorrow.
My Dad just told me that the new snow was "at least eight inches. And it's snowing an inch an hour." So much for bell playing. I don't think the roads between me and the highway will be plowed in time.

I did have fun playing in the snow last Sunday.
The beach. It's pretty obviously far from PR, huh. It has it's own beauty.

Stop

If you find stop-lights/signs boring, then I recommend you drive somewhere where there is snow, ice, slush, and a combination of these. The variations are amazing. In addition to the traditional Stop.....go....., here are some other options:

Slide.......stop. Go.

Slide.... stop. Try to go, but spin your tires. (You have chains for your tires in your trunk, right?)

Slide.... stop near the top of the hill. Slide backwards, finally go forwards.

Brake, brake, brake, slide..... So much for that stop sign. (This is a dangerous option and not law-abiding.)

Brake, brake, brake, brake, (brake, brake, brake,) stop. Spin.... inch along.... Go.

Brake, brake, brake, stop. Go/slide/go (sigh of relief).

Probably the options with the longest lasting influence are more like this:

Brake, brake, slide, stop. Is the car behind me going to stop in time? Bump.

Or possibly more expensive (for you):

Brake, brake, slide, bump, stop. (I don't recommend it: I prefer leaving too much stopping distance than too little.)

As I was saying, there is great variety.

hungry and hurried

The spring semester has begun, but right now it is winter. Yesterday, it was 8 degrees Fahrenheit outside my home in the morning.

I am hungry and waiting on some online class's screen to look like I think it should so that I can go eat lunch. I think I will quit waiting soon, close it, and go eat. I am hungry and I have a class in less than an hour.

So appearently I'm not going to say anything super profound right now because I am hungry and hurried.

I hope that you are having a good day.

My brothers made me a snow man! And it won't melt (unless there's a forest fire or something) because they made it of fabric and such. Isn't it cute?
Some things change, some things relocate.

The roads! Here is the road in front of our house. (Okay, I usually drive the other way from our driveway instead of driving this way, but the snow is on both sides of the driveway.)
Above is the picture that you probably saw before so that you can understand the more recent picture below of the same place.
The newest snow pictures are from a week ago. Right now it is melting, but we have LOTS of snow left to melt.
School has started again! Hurray! The tutor training class starts before regular classes (and hopefully is mostly finished before regular classes!). And I started reading a Psychology text book. I'm hoping I can study it myself and then take a test and get credit for it... The text book has been pretty interesting so far. I only have maybe 39 1/2 chapters left...
Happy January!

2008

It is the new year and I have a new voice... well, a distorted voice, maybe? I have a cold, and it is a voice-influencing cold. So it is a temporary difficulty.

The internet part of my one class that starts early (hopefully is mostly done before the other classes start?) is scheduled to start tomorrow. I am excited.

Happen I left Puerto Rico, I struggled. I think one issue had to do with whether I would know God here like I did in Puerto Rico. Does He still work in little miracles, made just right so that I would get them, communication made for me, specifically? Will He still answer when I seek Him (whether right away or later)? Will He still be as real to me here as He was in Puerto Rico?

God is real, and He is here as well as in Puerto Rico. He still works things out in that way that He does. So if you move, like I did, then wait and seek. Because your technical knowledge that He isn't just limited to one place is accurate. You might wait, but wait with sure hope.

Snow

Hello, I am taking a break from reading about language development in hearing impaired children (for a final paper due Wednesday). It is interesting.

This is my sister. She's on the ball.

I have read most of the words in the article, except for the references and such. It was interesting. Now I am uploading pictures and soon I think I will hurry to eat some food and go to bell practice.

Sunshine can be such a happy thing.

Snow in a parking lot, plowed into a pile (above). (Below is me standing in my driveway at home.)There is lots of snow at my house.

And there was even more snow this morning.

The last picture was taken out of the car window just before I drove off to

take my music listening final.

It was fine. It was easy. It was fun. And I left home early enough that the drive could take me extra long and not make me late (it did take me extra long and I wasn't late).

Well, now I've taken long enough that I probably wont eat all my food before I go to bell practice. Oh, well. But maybe I should hurry so I can eat a little...

Well, the picture doesn't quite do it justice. It is so pretty at night when the snow is on the trees and I am on a back road and turn on my high beam lights. You can see the trees a little; immagine seeing them more.
You know those times when it is extra clear that we can choose to thank God or we can get really upset? Yesterday was one. It had something to do with a job possibility/maybe not so likely a possibility anymore. But when I stopped and was happy in having schoolwork, and when I conciously realized that I have a nice place to live and I have food and I have transportation to school, then I was better.
So stop and listen and hear God tell you He loves you and you HAVE so much. Or cry through the silence, but don't give up on God; keep waiting.
